Lionesses of Leith

This was one of five free Women’s Heritage Health Walks led by storyteller Jan Bee Brown in 2019. This walk was part of the Leith Festival and explored the hidden tales of Leith’s trailblazing women.

‘Lionesses of Leith’

These guided walks will explore how the inspiring women of Leith helped fight for women’s causes and build a better community for their children against the odds, past and present.

Setting off from Junction Place at 2pm sharp, there will be opportunity for refreshments and comfort breaks beforehand. Join us for a gentle guided walk aimed at parents/carers with babies and young children around Great Junction Street (Leith Hospital); South Leith; Leith links and Leith Walk; finishing at Out of the Blue on Dalmeny Street where there are baby changing facilities and refreshments.
