“Sometimes, in any city, an area emerges as the hub of creative life for a whole generation of artists…”
Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman, 17 June 2013
Joining forces to develop and deliver this cultural mapping research project, Citizen Curator and LeithLate identified and investigated a key network of creative hubs, festivals and cultural assets – unique to Leith, and to Scotland.
Through qualitative and quantitative methodologies, this project established a base line of local cultural provision, highlighting the potential and the risks to the creative sector, as well as presenting key recommendations for action to further strengthen the area and its local networks.
Alongside engaging the wider creative community through events and peer-to-peer activities, this project helped to strengthen and support some of the individuals and organisations that make Leith exceptional.
