About Us

Citizen Curator is a cultural organisation working with history, identity and creativity in Leith and North Edinburgh. We run exhibitions, events and cultural projects that work with our location and its residents in meaningful, engaging and accessible ways.

Originally established as part of a desire to see more accessible creative activity within the local area, Citizen Curator has since grown to undertake projects in museums, galleries, schools, parks and public settings in Leith and Edinburgh.

From our foundation in 2013, we have become a catalyst for contemporary art, heritage and community building projects in the area.

Who We Are

A volunteer Management Board of up to six Trustees supports Citizen Curator in policy and strategic development.

Trustees are all long-time local residents who are lucky enough to be able to live, work or both in Leith! Together they form an experienced group of committed ambassadors with over 65 years of experience working in social policy, arts administration, project management and business development.
